(WHTM)-- It cost Pennsylvania $3.5 million to track down Chester County prison escapee Danilo Cavalcanti.
Cavalcanti escaped from the prison last summer and eluded capture for two weeks.
That total was revealed during state police budget hearings and that doesn't include regular manpower, that's for overtime and extra equipment that was brought in.
State Police were also asked about an incident this weekend in Philadelphia when a routine traffic stop led to the handcuffing and arrest of a top staffer of Mayor Parker and her husband, who are black.
The police commissioner says an internal affairs investigation is underway and that the officer is now on administrative leave.
Some lawmakers questioned State Police training.
"We inculcate cadets to be as professional as they can be with regards to and without regard to class, color creed or condition it is our hope," State Police Commissioner Christopher Paris said. "It is our goal that in every citizen encounter that we strive to provide that professional police service."
Troopers in Philadelphia have not yet been outfitted with bodycameras but the commissioner said they will be in the next two months.
