A murder investigation is underway at an Amish home in Crawford County and Monday night state police asked for your help finding a suspect.
We are here in the 21000 block of Fish Flats Road where there are a lot of state troopers and investigators on scene, as well as the Crawford County Coroner's Office. State police said they were called to the home at 12:31 p.m. Monday.
Investigators are being tight-lipped but neighbors told us a young Amish couple lives in the house where that murder investigation is underway.
We know the victim is in her early 20s and investigators told us her two young children were in the home when her body was discovered.
We also know the victim's husband was not home at the time of the murder.
Neighbors told us he came home around noon and found her body. Family members said the victim was six months pregnant
State police are not releasing how the young mother was murdered, but they say it is a homicide investigation.
Family members also said that a red Jeep was seen in the victim's driveway around 10 a.m. Monday morning. That Jeep was also seen driving up and down the road.
"The immediate family of the victim has been notified and we have members of the Amish community here coming down as well," said Lt. Mark Weindorf with Pennsylvania State Police.
Right now state police are asking anyone who may have been in this area from about 8 a.m. Monday morning until 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon who may have seen a suspicious vehicle in the area to give them a call.
We spoke with one of the victim's cousins who said the couple has two young children who were in the home at the time and confirmed by state police and the entire community is in shock.
