HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) -- Job fairs are set to take place in Huntingdon County as both SCI sites are looking to hire.

SCI Smithfield and SCI Huntingdon will host job fairs for correction officer trainees and other positions on Sept. 17 and 18.

Both job fairs will take place at SCI Huntingdon on Sept. 17 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again on Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Department of Corrections has lowered the minimum age for corrections officers to 18, previously it was 21. The state has also secured waivers for residency requirements for corrections officers at all 24 SCI locations.

While it's recommended to apply online (click here) no appointment or registration is required. Onsite interviews will take place on the day of for corrections officers and you'll need to have two forms of ID.
