PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (WHTM) -- A Pennsylvania-based non-profit organization is closing and as a result, more than 270 employees will be laid off.
According to a WARN Notice submitted to the Department of Labor & Industry, Benefits Data Trust (DBT), located at 1500 Market Street in Philadelphia, will be laying off 273 PA employees effective August 24, 2024.
Benefits Data Trust said on its website that after reviewing its finances, it decided to begin winding down its operations.
After careful consideration and a thorough review of our finances and business operations, BDT has made the difficult decision to begin winding down our operation. This decision has not been made lightly, and it comes after much reflection on the best path forward for our valued employees, the people who receive our services, and our funders and partners.
Over the coming weeks, we will be focusing on ensuring a smooth and seamless transition for our stakeholders. Our commitment to fulfilling our mission, providing support and honoring our obligations remains unwavering during this period.
