(WHTM) — Governor Josh Shapiro announced that all Commonwealth flags on all Commonwealth facilities, buildings, and grounds across Pennsylvania will be at half-staff today. Here's why.
Governor Shapiro announced that all flags will be at half-staff on June 3 to honor DCNR Forest Supervisor, Fire Warden, and Fire Chief of the Carsonville Volunteer Fire Co., David L. Warfel, who passed away last Thursday.
According to his obituary, Warfel graduated from Halifax High School, was a member and Fire Chief of Carsonville Vol. Fire Company, a Life Member and Trustee of the Halifax Fire Department, a member of the Dauphin County Fire Chiefs' Association, a State Fire Instructor, a DCNR Instructor, and a Forest Fire Warden. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, karaoke, and spending time with his family.
Governor Shapiro says all Pennsylvania residents are invited to participate in this tribute. The flags will be at half-staff until June 6 at sunset.
