HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM)-- Governor Shapiro stopped at Cordia Energy in Harrisburg on Thursday to talk about his new energy plan.
One element requires power plants to purchase credits from the commonwealth to emit carbon. The second part requires the state to get half of its electricity from different energy sources, preferably clean energy sources.
"It's going to incentivize innovation, it's going to help us move more toward clean energy, and it's going to create as this makes clear, thousands of good paying jobs in the process, thousand more people like these folks who are doing the important energy work every day," Shapiro said.
Republicans have criticized the plan saying it will only cost Pennsylvanians more.
