HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) -- A State College man, previously accused of sexually assaulting his dog, has been charged with more lewd acts in Pennsylvania state parks.
Themis Matsoukas, 64, formerly a professor of chemical engineering at PSU, was charged in two separate incidents all stemming from the investigation into the alleged abuse of his dog at Rothrock State Forest in April 2023.
According to the criminal complaints, photos and videos were found during the investigation that allegedly showed numerous lewd acts with Matsoukas in Rothrock State Forest, Kish Camp on Broad Mountain Road and at Harry's Valley Hunting Camp.
Warning: The following descriptions come directly from the criminal complaint filed by Pennsylvania State Police. It may be graphic to some.
Troopers said that trail cameras showed a man, believed to be Matsoukas, in nothing but a black ski mask doing things such as rubbing his genitals on pavilions and railings, masturbating in a lake, and allegedly inserting a tootsie pop in his rectum. Troopers noted the man was also seen putting a tree branch in his rectum as well as climbing a tree while naked.
Investigators noted that most photos and videos were connected by the man having the same orange and grey North Face backpack and black mask.
Matsoukas was a professor of chemical engineering at Penn State University. The school put out a statement in 2023 after his arrest saying that he was "relieved of his responsibilities and is on leave."
In addition to the original investigation and charges, Matsoukas is now being charged with open lewdness, trespassing and disorderly conduct in both new cases.
