(WHTM)-- Hundreds of Pennsylvanians who receive Pennsylvania American Water's low-income assistance bill discounts are at risk of losing utility financial assistance.
According to Pennsylvania American Water, there are 20,200 statewide customers currently using the H20 Help to Others Program, which assists low-income customers. Recently, the organization sent letters to customers who use the program, informing them that they must comply with new income verification requirements.
Customers must follow the new income verification requirements within 10 days of receiving the letter, Pennsylvania American Water said.
Currently, over 660 customers in the Midstate have yet to provide income verification to maintain their program eligibility, per Pennsylvania American Water.
Locally, 348 customers from Cumberland County, 134 from Dauphin County, 102 from Lebanon County, and 82 from York County have yet to provide verification.
Customers can contact the H20 Help to Others Program administrator online or by calling 888-282-6816 to provide income verification.
