(WHTM) - Hundreds of new bird flu cases have been detected in Pennsylvania.

According to the CDC, about 400 cases from "non-poultry" birds were detected in two Pennsylvania cases.

About 310 cases were found in Butler County, and another 90 were discovered in Luzerne County. The CDC did not disclose exactly where the birds were located within the counties or what type of birds were impacted.

According to the World Organisation for Animal Health, non-poultry birds are non-commercial and those considered pets, kept in captivity, racing, exhibition, or show.

The last case of bird flu detected in Pennsylvania's poultry population was in Lancaster County earlier this month, with about 600 cases.

Millions of birds have been affected by bird flu across Pennsylvania this year, including nearly two million in Dauphin County at a commercial table egg layer.
