(WHTM) - Despite wagering over $100 million on the Super Bowl, Pennsylvania bettors came out on top.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board says a record $101,548,073 was wagered on Super Bowl LIX between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.
With the Eagles in the Super Bowl, Pennsylvanians appeared to have heavily bet on their hometown team. The "house" lost, with bettors winning $6,532,147 more than they bet. While the Gaming Control Board could not provide the exact numbers on who Pennsylvanians bet on, they "noted in particular a high percentage of wagers placed on the Eagles to win."

The more than $101 million wagered was a 20.4% increase over the previous high for wagers placed in Pennsylvania for a Super Bowl achieved in 2023 when the Eagles and Chiefs last faced off.
