Pennsylvania man shot, killed over eviction notice, investigation underway

EMPORIUM, Pa. (WTAJ) -- An altercation over an eviction notice led to the shooting death of a Pennsylvania man over the weekend, state police report.

According to State Police at Emporium, they were dispatched for a reported shooting on Trailer Court Drive north of Emporium in Cameron County around 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4.

Troopers said they arrived on scene to find 63-year-old Thomas Krivonyak dead from a gunshot wound following a fight that broke out while he was being served an eviction notice.

The police report states that at one point, Krivonyak had someone in a chokehold before that person fired a handgun, striking him.

It's reported that Krivonyak died from his injuries at the scene.

Troopers currently investigating.
