TREMONT TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) -- Hundreds will be out of a job in the new year as Big Lots winds down operations at a Pennsylvania distribution center.
The Columbus, Ohio-based chain plans to layoff 505 workers at their distribution center on Rausch Creek Road near Tremont, Schuylkill County, according to a WARN notice.
Layoffs will begin Jan. 6 and be completed by March 31.
The Schuylkill County distribution center is one of five nationwide and the only one in the northeast.
Big Lots announced earlier this month that a planned sale of the company had fallen through and "going out of business" sales would begin at all stores.
