HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) - Democrat Stephanie Rivera has been elected to the State House representing the 96th District.
Rivera is a 1994 University of Pittsburgh graduate where she majored in Spanish and completed a certificate program in Latin American Studies.
After graduation, she went on to earn her teaching certificate at Shippensburg University. She currently serves as the Manheim Township School District school board representative on the Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 board of directors.
Rivera worked for three decades as a public school high school Spanish teacher and has led students on service learning trips all over the world, including Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic, Jinotega, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and more.
Rivera’s highest priorities include a strong public education, a strong union workforce, efficient and effective physical and mental healthcare options, strong environmental health, and dismantling marginalization.
