(WHTM) — Pennsylvania State Police have announced that new vehicles are set to patrol the Commonwealth streets.

According to a post on X, the force is unveiling 204 new Chevy Tahoes that will roll out to State Police barracks across Pennsylvania. The first one will be assigned to Troop G in Bedford.

The change marks the second Troopers have made this year, as they previously deviated from grey patrol vehicles for white ones. Earlier this year they deployed new Ford and Chevy model vehicles.

State Police say there are 397 Chevy Tahoe and Ford Police Interceptor utility vehicles that State Police ordered for 2024:

  • 93 Ford (white/marked)
  • 100 Ford (conventional colors/unmarked patrol)
  • 140 Chevy (white/marked)
  • 64 Chevy (conventional colors/unmarked patrol)

State Police had used the grey vehicles since 2017 but decided the white vehicles provided better visibility.
