ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -- A local supply chain facility in Dauphin County will be closing its doors in the coming weeks.
According to a WARN Notice filed with the Department of Labor & Industry, the DHL Supply Chain facility, located at 2771 North Market Street in Dauphin County, will be closing its doors in the coming weeks.
The closure officially goes into effect on November 10 and will result in 268 jobs lost.
DHL Supply Chain operates this Dauphin County facility for a fashion business named Boohoo, who first announced the facility's closure on September 11.
"DHL Supply Chain was recently informed of a decision by one of our customers to restructure its distribution channels," DHL Supply Chain told abc27 news in an email. "As a result, the warehouse facility that supports their operations will ramp down operations through the end of the year. In the coming weeks, we will work with our associates to determine opportunities to continue their career as valued team members of DHL Supply Chain."
According to Boohoo, this closure is the "latest in a series of steps as part of the strategy to reposition the group for sustainable, profitable growth."
The company says that as a result of these changes, Boohoo will stop supplying customers from its Dauphin County facility and will instead fulfill all US orders from its state-of-the-art automated UK distribution facility.
This DHL Supply Chain location in Dauphin County first began operating back in August 2023.
Moving forward, Boohoo says they will sublet the 1.1 million square foot facility once operations at the site come to a conclusion.
