BATH, Pa. (WHTM) -- A Lehigh Valley man is facing federal charges, accused of mail fraud and wire fraud as authorities allege he schemed to defraud the federal government and several car dealerships.
Justin Heimbach, 33, of Bath, was indicted by federal authorities this week on six counts of mail fraud and four counts of wire fraud.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said Heimbach, who operated TeamKJ Construction, engaged in a scheme that led to several fraudulent pandemic unemployment assistance applications.
Those applications were filed in the names of people allegedly let go because of the pandemic, using materially false statements regarding their employment.
Authorities also alleged hat Heimbach also defrauded multiple Lehigh Valley car dealerships by purchasing several vehicles in the names of other construction companies registered to or associated with him, writing checks for those vehicles on closed bank accounts or accounts without enough funds to cover the transaction.
If convicted, Heimbach could face a maximum sentence of 200 years in prison.
