ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) -- An Altoona woman was accused of blocking off city streets and claimed she was a state trooper and conducting an investigation, saying her daughter was murdered, police report.
Chelsea Marie Long, 31, was arrested over the weekend after Altoona police were called to the area of 4th Avenue and 2nd Street just before 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3. Long was allegedly blocking off the street and alley with orange cones.
Long told officers that her daughter was murdered there and she was conducting her own investigation, according to charges filed. Police noted she said she could see words on the sidewalk and on walls that weren't there. Police instructed her to remove the cones and re-open the street.
While doing so, police said they spoke with the caller who said Long was blocking traffic for 20 minutes before they arrived. Another witness had a video of Long. Police noted that in the video, she was seen blocking off traffic, directing drivers to go another route and even giving people a badge number while claiming she was a state trooper.
Long was taken into custody. According to the criminal complaint, police found methamphetamine and a used syringe in her purse.
With no fixed address, Long was taken to Blair County Prison and later arraigned. She was released with $20,000 unsecured bail.
