TIOGA TWP, Pa. (WETM) — A Pennsylvania teen was identified and confirmed with the Tioga County Coroner on Thursday after dying in a lake on Saturday.
According to Tioga County Coroner, James Daugherty, 16-year-old Rylan Trent Weiler, of Manheim, died on Saturday, July 27, after drowning in a kayaking incident. Daugherty confirmed on Thursday that the drowning was accidental.
An obituary from Bush Funeral Home stated that services for Weiler will be held today, Aug. 1, and Friday, Aug. 2.
First responders were sent to Ives Run Lane in Middlebury Township just after 9 a.m. on Saturday for the report of a missing kayaker who was possibly trapped underwater.
Drones and boat teams searched the Tioga-Hammon Lakes and found Weiler seven hours after the rescue mission began.
