CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM)-- The Pennsylvania Lottery is encouraging players to check their tickets as an unclaimed $100,000 lottery ticket nears its expiration date.
According to the Pennsylvania Lottery, a Giant Food Store on 255 South Spring Garden Street in Carlisle sold an unclaimed winning Powerball ticket on August 14, 2023. The ticket matched four of the five white balls drawn, 32-34-37-39-47, and the red Powerball three to win $100,000.
The ticket would be worth $50,000 without the $1 power play option, but the powerplay multiplier drawn was two.
The mystery winner has until Wednesday, August 14, to file a prize claim with the PA Lottery. Claims can be filed by mail or at one of the local offices.
According to state law, Pennsylvania lottery Draw Game prizes may be claimed on a business day up to a year after purchasing the ticket. Unclaimed and expired lottery prizes remain in the lottery fund and are used to help support programs for older Pennsylvanians.
The Pennsylvania lottery urges claimants to sign the back of tickets and file a claim at any of the lottery's seven area offices. Offices are open to the public between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
The PA Lottery Headquarters in Middletown remains closed.
