BRADFORD COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Bradford County District Attorney's Office announced that an inmate is at large after escaping from the hospital.

According to the release 30-year-old Ryan Charles Kitchart was committed to the Bradford County Correctional Facility for charges related to a Tuesday morning incident.

Court documents state during processing officials noticed something in the abdomen of Kitchart and he was then transported to Towanda Memorial Hospital for evaluation and possible treatment.

Officials say, for reasons that are unclear and are being investigated by the Bradford County District Attorney's Office that Kitchart was transported to the hospital without police or correction facility personnel.

As stated in the criminal complaint Kitchart is still at large after law enforcement including the use of drones were unable to locate him since 6:00 a.m. on June 25.
