(WHTM) -- Pizza is a food that can come in many different styles - New York, Sicilian, Detroit, Chicago, etc. - and it can be difficult to find authentic pizzerias. But one Pennsylvania spot is a place to check out for pizza lovers, according to a new report.
San Lucas Pizzeria, located at 2000 S Bouvier St. in Philadelphia, was named by the New York Times as one of the 22 best pizza shops in the United States.
The pizza shop first opened in 2005. Valentin Palillero, who emigrated from Mexico, and his wife, Eva Mendez, offered traditional pizzas and toppings, but eventually, Palillero decided to use ingredients that are used in Mexican food to "stay true "to appeal to his own community," as per reported by the NYT.
Other than pizza, San Lucas Pizzeria offers Mexican cuisines, like tacos, quesadillas, burritos and more, along with cheesesteaks, burgers, salads, Stromboli and grilled chicken sandwiches.
Hours for the pizza shop is from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., for pick up orders, and delivery is from 1 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., every day besides Wednesday which is when they are closed.
