Officials across Central Pennsylvania and beyond are making sure people have places to cool down this week. Here in the Midstate, the Dauphin County Library System is open to residents during operating hours.
A full county-by-county list can be found here.
Officials with PennDOT said during the heat wave, construction projects will go on as scheduled. Officials add they are taking extra precautions to ensure crews are kept cool.
"Lots of breaks, lots of hydration, trying to be in the shade when possible, eating healthy, etc.," said Fritzi Schreffler, Safety Press Officer for the PA Department of Transportation.
Schreffler also said crews will try and get some of the more intensive work done earlier in their shifts, if possible.
