ENOLA, Pa. (WHTM) - An Enola woman is facing charges after police say a man died of an overdose in her apartment and she dragged the body into the hallway.
According to court paperwork, East Pennsboro Township Police were called at 5:59 a.m. on Jan. 19 to an apartment building at 400 South Enola Drive.
A man was found dead in the hallway between two apartments and officers interviewed one of those residents, Jaqueline Tirado, 68, who said she had let the victim into the building the night before but did not let him into her apartment.
Officers obtained a search warrant for her apartment and found suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia inside.
Tirado then said that she had smoked crack cocaine with the victim, who had laid down on a bed for the night. He became unresponsive and died, at which point Tirado is accused of dragging him into the hallway, telling police she was concerned that she would get in trouble with the building’s owners if a death occurred in her unit.
She was charged with abuse of a corpse, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A preliminary hearing is set for June 12 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Sanderson.
